Welcome to the Up For Grabs Main Page.
ATTENTION:
After more than 20 years
juggling at the Fox Valley Park District's Prisco Center, we were
informed in late June, "Hope
your summer's going well. The Park District has transformed the
balcony into classroom space this summer and going forward into fall.
I'm afraid we will not be able to continue the juggling class or
opening juggling. I know you enjoy using the space here, but
unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate you.
Please give me a call when you have a chance..."
If someone knows of
a venue to Juggle in the Fox Valley Region please contact Todd or
Brian.
The
information below will be correct through JULY 2008. And will be
updated when we know what's next.
What is the Up
For Grabs Juggling Club?
The Up For Grabs Juggling club is one of the largest and oldest juggling
clubs in the Chicagoland area. Meeting since 1985, we have been around for
more than 20 years. We have been an affiliate of the International
Jugglers' Association since 1989.
Who are the Members of the Up For Grabs
Juggling Club?
We have a broad range of jugglers in our regular attendance. Everyone from
seasoned professionals and IJA medal winners, to hobbyists and beginners.
See our members link on the left for more info.
I can't juggle, but want to learn. Can I
come?
Sure! All are welcome at all of our meetings. If you are brand new to
juggling, we recommend you take the juggling class that we teach through
the Fox Valley Park District. This class will provide you with 3 juggling
balls, and an instructor for a 6 week session. Class information can be
found HERE. Feel
free to attend the regular meetings before your class begins.
When?
We meet every Monday night from 7-9 p.m..
(Except some holidays. Contact us with questions about any specific week)
Where?
We meet at the Guy V. Prisco Community Center, McCullough Park, Lake
Street (Route 31) in Aurora, IL. This facility from the
Fox Valley Park
District has been our home for more than 20 years. We currently meet in
the Balcony overlooking the main Gym. From the main entrance, head right
and look for the signs to the Balcony. Directions
Cost? (As of 5/11/08)
The
Fox
Valley Park District charges a $2 per person "Open Juggling" fee.
This must be paid at the font desk upon entry. (Not required if you
are registered for a currently running class.)
This fee helps support the park district and covers our use of the
space. If this is your 1st time, or are an out of town visitor,
several of our members have offered to sponsor your visit so that you
can come enjoy the Club for FREE (More Info) |
